Adding Graphics
-
Web Site organization tip:
it is best to save all images into the “_images” folder on your folder
display. This will make it easier to find the page you want to edit and
keep the file structure uncluttered. You can drag and drop image files
in the Folder list, and FrontPage will keep track of the changes for
you.
-
Clip Art
-
Add clip art from the Clip Organizer
-
On the Insert menu, point to Picture,
and then click Clip Art.
-
In the Clip Art task pane (task pane: A
window within an Office application that provides commonly used
commands. Its location and small size allow you to use these commands
while still working on your files.), in the Search for box, type a word
or phrase that describes the clip you want.
-
If you want to limit your search to a
specific clip art collection or file type, do the following:
-
In the Search in list, clear the check
boxes next to the collections you do not want to search.
-
In the Results should be list, select
the file types you want.
-
Click Go.
-
In the search results list, click the
graphic you want to add.
-

to add a graphic from.

fineness of detail in an image or text produced by a monitor or
printer.) that you want.

Do one of the following:
-
To add the graphic in its original form,
click Insert.
-
To adjust the properties of the graphic,

-
Add a graphic from a
digital camera

On the Insert menu, point to Picture,
and click From Scanner or Camera.
-
Under Device, click the device you want
to add a graphic from.
-
Click Custom Insert.
-
Select the graphic that you want to add
and then click Get Pictures.
-
TIP
- To select more than one graphic, hold down CTRL and select the
graphics you want.
-
When you save the page, Microsoft
FrontPage prompts you to save embedded files to your Web site. Unless
you specify otherwise, graphics that use 256 or fewer distinct colors
are automatically converted to GIF (GIF: A graphics file format (.gif
extension in Windows) used to display indexed-color graphics on the
World Wide Web. It supports up to 256 colors and uses lossless
compression, meaning that no image data is lost when the file is
compressed.), while all other graphics are converted to JPEG (JPEG: A
graphics file format (.jpg extension in Microsoft Windows) supported by
many Web browsers that was developed for compressing and storing
photographic images. It's best used for graphics with many colors, such
as scanned photos.).
-
You can choose not to save the graphic
to your Web site by clicking Set Action in the Save Embedded Files
dialog box, which appears when you save a page. For local files, a
reference to the graphic is created on your page. However, if the
graphic is removed from that location, you will no longer see the
graphic on your own page.
